I built subtl to solve a problem I was too embarrassed to talk about.

I loved activewear. I lived in leggings.

But I also lived with the constant, quiet anxiety of checking the front of them.

The mirror checks.

The window reflections.

The subtle tugging that wasn’t subtle at all.

And the worst part?

I thought it was just me.

I was too scared to mention it to anyone. Camel toe felt like one of those “don’t say it out loud” things. So I worked around it. Darker leggings. Longer tops. Adjusting constantly. Pretending I didn’t care.

At the same time, I was growing up around body image issues in my own family. Watching how much space women’s bodies take up in our heads. How much we fixate. How much we shrink. How much we quietly manage.

Women already carry so much.

We do not need to be worrying about our underwear, too.

subtl was created to take one thing off your plate.

Not to make you sexier.

Not to make you smaller.

Not to make you “perfect.”

Just to help you feel secure.

To stop scanning the room.

To stop double-checking the mirror.

To move freely and forget about it.

Every piece is designed by women, for women — with performance fabric, sweat-wicking gussets, and built-in camel-toe protection — but more importantly, with consideration.

When we launched, I honestly thought no one would care.

We sold out.

That’s when I realised this wasn’t just my insecurity. It was something women had been quietly managing for years.
